MOTORCYCLE AND SCOOTER MOTS, CLASS 1 & 2

Our MOT bay is operational to test class 1 and class 2 Vehicles – ie Scooters and Motorcycles. We test all sorts of motorcycles and scooters including enduro bikes and motorcycles without lights.

Here is a checklist of some often overlooked MOT requirements for your motorcyle to pass its test.

Exhaust

A exhaust emitting a simlar noise to that of the standard exhaust for that machine and not marked up 'not for road use' or similar markings.

Legally sized numberplate

A legal sized number plate with the correct letter sizing is an important part of the MOT and commonly overlooked, you could be fined for having the wrong size plate so its well worth the small investment in the correct size and format.

Rear reflector

A rear reflector should be fitted centrally to the rear of your motorcycle, these quite often fall off or are missing, so a good one to check unless your bike is for day time use only and has no other lights fitted.

Rear footrests

It is common for the rear footrests to be removed, but if your bike has a pillon seat that is not covered with an aftermacket pillion seat shroud then you must have rear footrests still atached to your machine. Again an easy one to over look but an important part for your MOT test.

THE MOT INSPECTION ON YOUR MOTORCYCLE WILL TAKE APPROXIMATELY 30 MINS
